ENGLISH AROUND US

Is English in your city? ... in your home? ... in your clothes?

• Look around yourselves carefully. We can’t escape from English. Some words we use every day are English words too.

In pairs, try to complete the chart below in your notebooks using as many words as possible. Look for examples of English words around you, at home, or in your daily life. Then, let’s make a poster about the presence of English around us using all the words from this activity.  But first, we ask James:

                            - Do you use Spanish words in America?

ENGLISH IN OUR CITY

Have you ever noticed that English is around us, in our city? Let´s watch the following presentation where we can find some pictures taken by our school partners. Do you know where they are?

Now, your task is to create an online collage about the presence of English in your daily life:

1st STEP: Take at least two photos of places in your city (street, shops...) and another two photos in your house: food, clothes, objects,...

2nd STEP: Write four sentences about them. One in present simple, another in present continuous, and two in present perfect.

e.g. In this cup, I have breakfast every morning/ I'm drinking my coffee now.

I've never eaten in Burger King. have you ever been there?

You can use the following online app.
