Ice breaker: Race to the board.

1st STEP: We need two teams of three people.

2nd STEP: On the board, I write “Days of the week”  twice, one on the right-hand side of the board and the other on the left-hand side.

3rd STEP: One person from each team will stand at the board with a marker. I will say, for example, “Today is ____/ Yesterday was _______ / Tomorrow will be _______” and the first person to fill in the correct day of the week on the board will win a point for their team.

Now, through the following presentation, we are going to learn about the ORIGIN of the names of the days of the week. We will read aloud in the class, watch the video, and then, we will be prepared to do in groups the comprehension test.

When is your birthday?

Line up by your birth date. I check if you are in the right order by asking the question "When is your birthday?" to each student. They answer: "My birthday is IN__________"

The months of the year.

We form groups of 4 people. In groups, put each grid in the right place.

We give each group an envelope with:

- the months of the year,

- the name where it comes from,

- who or what it was and

- the reason for this choice, but mixed.

The group should talk and discover each other's place.
